Part II: MBK Sacramento - Trauma and Healing Learning Series

We are thrilled to announce that on August 27, the 2nd event of the MBK Trauma and Healing Learning Series will feature Dr. Torry Winn of the U.C. Davis Transformative Justice in Education Center. Dr. Winn will describe, give context, and demonstrate restorative justice circles, helping participants expand their "healing toolkit" for their community work.    Join us for an interactive day of learning, as well as deepening our commitment to demonstrating equity in practice in every aspect of our community work.   Registration is currently being held for participants who were present at the May 30 event, through August 15, in order to help build skills from the common learning foundation established in May. If space allows, we will open the registration more broadly (on a limited basis) starting August 16.    More about event host, MBK-Sac   The Healthy Development Strategy Team from the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Sacramento Collaborative has developed a Learning Series for 100 local health practitioners, centered around increasing understanding of the impact of racism on overall wellbeing, and promoting healing-centered approaches to healthcare. Informed by a series of mini-town hall sessions with youth, the Learning Series launched on May 2019 and continues through early fall.   The MBK Collaborative is a network of systems leaders, advocates, community partners, youth-serving organizations and young people working together to address health, education, employment and justice system disparities for young men of color through policy advocacy, systems change and support for effective programs. The MBK Sacramento Collaborative is funded by Sierra Health Foundation and the Obama Foundation and is managed by The Center at Sierra Health Foundation.   We hope you can make it! Cheers, My Brother's Keeper Sacramento Collaborative
