      Visitors' Day is a unique opportunity to get an inside look at how the youth at Breakthrough Sacramento achieve academic success. Experience the amazing dynamics of BSAC first hand as you meet our motivated students, Teaching Fellows, and Mentor Teachers.   Additionally, witness our first mini solar car race sponsored by SMUD! Please RSVP today and mark your calendar for:   DATE: Friday, July 26, 2019   TIME:  9:30 am to noon LOCATION: The donated campus of Sacramento Country Day School, 2636 Latham Dr., Sacramento, CA. At Breakthrough Sacramento, we serve more than 200 under-resourced youth who aspire to be first in their families to attend college.  We become their academic partner, year-round, for 6 years – middle school through high school – leading them on a path to higher education. Additionally, Breakthrough is a pre-professional training program for college students who are on track to become educators.  We serve students in four specific ways: 6-week academic summer camp, before 7th– 9th grades Weekly tutoring during the school year at students' public schools Year-round field trips and learning opportunities   College prep and advising during high school, plus financial-aid seminars And the program works: 100% of Breakthrough’s students graduate from High School 85%+ are accepted to 4-year colleges 96% are first in their families to attend college 90% of our Teaching Fellows report they are more likely to pursue a career in teaching after working at Breakthrough.
