      Behavioral Health 2020: Exploring Options for System Transformation

      The Systems and Medicaid Committee (SMC) will host an event to educate Council members and relevant stakeholders on the administrative and financing mechanisms, barriers, and opportunities for behavioral health service delivery through County Mental Health Departments and Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans. The Council will also take recommendations from stakeholders for the 1915(b) and 1115 Medi-Cal waivers.   The event will consist of the following: Presentation from the County Behavioral Health Directors Association (CBHDA) on how services are currently delivered for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders along with strategies to move towards a more accessible and effective system of care.   Panelist discussion composed of subject-matter experts from Kern County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Nevada County Behavioral Health Department, Partnership Health Plan, and Blue Sky Consulting Group to provide their perspective on the opportunities and risks with the renewing Medi-Cal waivers followed by a Q&A session.   Feedback from audience members to help formulate recommendations on the Medi-Cal waivers to the Department of Health Care Services. Elevators are located inside the entrance on the right hand side. There is a cafe located on the first floor open from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. We recommend parking in Parking Structures 2 and 3 for a rate of $2 per hour. You may also park in any visitor parking lot for a rate of $6 per day, however, space is limited.
