      Dougie MacLean

Dougie MacLean is one of Scotland's finest songwriter-composer, internationally renowned for his song "Caledonia', music for 'Last of the Mohicans' and inspired performances worldwide - from New York's Carnegie Hall to London's Festival Theatre and The Sydney Opera House.

He is the recipient of two prestigious Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame and the Danish Folk Award. His BBC Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year follows an Honours List OBE from the Queen for services to music and charity and string of awards, gold discs and inductions into various Halls of Fame. He was described by The Wall Street Journal as, "a musical hero."

"This flying visit to the north-west will be exhausting but great... I'm looking forward to the fans from all over the USA who tend to gather for these short concert tours. I've got some new songs that I'm looking forward to sharing... as well as a few of the old favourites. I think I'd get lynched if I didn't sing Caledonia."
