Soares Map China Beach & Golden Gate Trail Description Description: Coastal Trail�s course along vast beaches, cypress-topped bluffs, and crashing breakers is a slice of paradise. To start, wander over to nearby Cliff House and study the historic exhibits and pictures. You can watch the barking sea lions and basking seals on Seal Rock from the Cliff House balcony. The neighboring Sutro Bath ruins are cement foundations from salt water baths ravaged by a fire in 1966. For a couple of miles, Coastal Trail passes in and out of cypress groves which frame jaw-dropping views of the ocean to the west, Golden Gate Bridge to the east, and the Marin Headlands punctuated by Point Bonita to the north. Directions: I-80 West to 37 West, to 101 South (toll bridge). Take Van Ness Drive to Geary Blvd. � turn Right at Geary Blvd. and take it till it dead ends at Cliff House next to the ocean. Meter Parking or fee parking lots. Be sure to bring plenty of quarters! You can choose your destignated parking spot/lot - be sure to meet right in front of Cliff House. These directions are for planning purposes only. You may find that construction projects, traffic, weather, or other events may cause conditions to differ from the map results, and you should plan your route accordingly. You must obey all signs or notices regarding your route.
