      California Latino Legislative Policy Briefing

      Join the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Initiative (LPPI) for lunch on Monday, May 20th to learn about exciting California-focused research relating to homelessness, the healthcare workforce shortage, and public opinion trends going into the 2020 presidential election. LPPI scholars in attendance include: Dr. Gary Segura, Dean of the Luskin School of Public Affairs, Dr. Melissa Chinchilla, Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Fielding School of Public Health, and Dr. Arturo Vargas-Bustamante, Associate Professor of Health Management at the Fielding School of Public Health. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. Research presentations include: Stemming the Rise of Latino Homelessness: Lessons from Los Angeles County, Dr. Melissa Chinchilla  Latino Physician Shortage in California: The Provider Perspective, Dr. Arturo Vargas Bustamante  Public Opinion Trends & the 2020 Presidential Election, Dean Gary Segura  This briefing is co-hosted by the California Latino Legislative Caucus and UCLA Government & Community Relations.
